Bridge Report November 2025
Boldre Parish Council has two vacancies for Councillors. It is a great time to join the Council, there are many projects in the pipeline to follow on from a hugely successful year where we have implemented a new Play equipment, a Community Orchard, have had successes in highway maintenance and community engagement. If you are interested in joining us, contact the Clerk
The Parish has purchased two portable generators to support the community during power outages. In addition, the Council has obtained an additional grant from SSEN to fund the purchase of further emergency equipment.
BPC Highways
Flooding has re-emerged as a problem in recent weeks – Royden Lane has been particularly affected – and the group have flagged this with HCC who have indicated that they have scheduled work there.
Road surface repairs (patching only) on Pilley Hill (and others), where potholes were reported and marked up in September, have been postponed a number of times in recent weeks, following the emergency repair-work undertaken by Southern Water in Boldre Lane. This work has significantly over-run earlier expectations but is finally complete. The patching repair-work on Pilley Hill has been completed on 10th November.
Work on F502 (Solent Way) footbridge in Pylewell Park has been completed, so the footpath has re-opened.
Volunteers working with HCC Countryside Services returned to complete the work on F33 (Church Lane to Rodlease Lane) on November 5th. The work is a vast improvement and hopefully will last.
The handrail has been replaced, new drainage and surfacing installed. Steps at the entrance way have been repaired and secured.
BPC have been contacted about the condition of F11 (Pilley Hill to Warborne Lane) It appears this footpath is being damaged by motor vehicles accessing the pony paddocks alongside the path. This land was recently for sale.
Please continue to report road and path problems to HCC.

Pavilion and Football pitches
Do you have a group that could use the pavilion for an outside exercise class or use it as a base for some outdoor training? Contact the Clerk with your proposals.
The Pavilion is a great location for an event or a class. There are toilets, showers and a basic kitchen area. Do you have an idea for its use? Are you part of a regular group that could do with an occasional or regular venue?
Recreation Ground
The Council would like to remind that both the recreation ground and the play areas are dog free zones. This is to protect the health of our children and users of the sports ground.
The Council has opportunities for volunteers for tree watering, youth services, community Speedwatch and fundraising.
Boldre Parish Clerk – Victoria Thomas
The next full meeting will be Monday 8th December and Monday 12th January at 18.30
