November 4th was a busy day for Councillors as the old playground equipment was removed from the site of the new hall. The old equipment has been cleared and most of the old rubber safety matting (so much matting?!!) has been lifted. it was freat to be working in collaboration with members of the Boldre War Memorial Hall committee to turn the hall and playing field area into a wonderful village "hub". Exciting changes!
Most of the old play equipment is off the be recycled via a registered scrap metal merchant with all proceeds raised will go towards the new play park project. The rubber matting will be stored and re-used where appropriate.
The red swing set is being relocated and fitted with cradle swings to give babies and toddlers something until the new play park is open. A big THANK YOU! to Roger from Fusion Welding & Fabrication Ltd for giving up his time and materials this morning to make the re-use of the swings possible. Much appreciated, Roger!
Hard at work lifting rubber matting!
Grinding the swing frames off!
Yet more matting! Thank goodness for Tractors!
