This page contains the Annual Governance and Accountability Returns and supporting information for Boldre Parish Council. The Local Audit & Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts & Audit Regulations 2015 set out the responsibilities of all local councils in respect of their accounting and auditing procedures.

Each year, the Council's financial accounts and statements are examined by an independent internal auditor appointed by the Council.

The Council is also required to complete an Annual Accountability & Governance Return (AGAR) which includes the findings of the Internal Auditor, together with Governance Statements and Financial Statements. The AGAR is then submitted to another independent external auditor for examination.

The reason that line 5 of the Section 1 governance statement was ticked NO for 2021/22 is as follows

- The financial risk assessment for the council was conducted in 21/22 but was not recorded by minute as being done until after 31st March 2022.

The Internal audit, completed by Lightatouch, noted that the BPC (Financial) Risk Assessment had not been revised in 2021-22 (but was revised in April 2022). An explanation has been received from the Internal Auditor which has been sent to the External Auditor.

This has now been completed and minuted on 9.3 meeting 12th December 2022.
