When council meetings are held

The parish meetings are held in the War Memorial Hall in Pilley.

Unless Council should decide otherwise, at least one month in advance of a date to be changed, meetings of the Council shall be held on the second Monday of each month, commencing at 6.15 pm. Agendas will be sent to each council member and displayed for the public a minimum of three clear days prior to the meeting.

Members of the public are always welcome to attend.

The annual meeting to report on the previous year and look forward to the coming year is normally held at 7pm on the third Monday of March every year.

When can you speak

Members of the public may request to speak at the start of the council meeting. This may be to draw a topic to the attention of the council or to comment on a topic present on the agenda. If you wish to speak, please contact the Clerk in advance of the meeting or speak to the Clerk or Chairman prior to the start of the meeting. Speaking time is limited to 3 minutes per speaker, so please ensure that you are well prepared and are able to present your topic succinctly.

Legally you do not have the right to speak during the formal parish council meeting, this is reserved for elected members of the parish council. However, at all meetings of the Council the Chairman may at his discretion and at a convenient time in the transaction of business, adjourn the meeting so as to allow any members of the public to address the meeting in relation to the business to be transacted at that meeting.
