The Amenities group reported that they had met with Redlynch (selected play equipment supplier) to discuss the new play area. The proposed design was discussed, with minor modifications proposed, including clarification on finishes. Following a meeting with the NPA planning group, further discussion is required to clarify if there is a need for planning permission for rubber matting around new play equipment.
BPC heard that one of the cradle swings on the existing play area had failed. As these had been replaced recently, this failure will be discussed with the manufacturer.
A signed contract for one year with Lymington Sprites was received, confirming the use of the football pitches on the recreation ground for another year.
BPC heard an interim update from the Highways Group on the highways strategy including how BPC will deal with encroaching hedges, highways defects, speed and signage. The highways group have held initial meetings and will look to progress this throughout September/October.
BPC would like to remind Parishioners with hedges abutting the Highway that now is an ideal time to cut them back to allow for better visibility on the roads.
The date for the next Parish Council meeting is October 11th.
