The Council are extremely please to receive an update on the Electoral Review of New Forest District - Draft Recommendations Consultation. Following Boldee feedback on the NFDC proposals which would have seen Boldre Parish split in half and paired with Lymington, the LGBCE have accepted Boldres arguments.

The LGBCE stated that "We note the concerns of Boldre Parish Council and consider that its amendment, based on 48 members, provides a stronger warding pattern in this area while still facilitating good electoral equality across the rest of the district. On balance, we have been persuaded to adopt Boldre Parish Council’s
proposals, including a council size of 48. We have therefore based our draft recommendations on a 48-councillor council."

The proposed warding pattern for NFDC elections will see Boldre joined with East Boldre, Beaulieu and Exbury & Lepe to form a single rural NFDC ward. For those that would like to view the proposal or provide feedback, please visit http://www.lgbce.org.uk/all-reviews/south-east/hampshire/new-forest. The consultation closes on 7th September 2020.
