Consultation on the New Forest National Park draft Revised Habitat Mitigation Scheme Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
Since 2012 the National Park Authority has sought contributions from new development to ensure potential recreational impacts on the protected habitats of the New Forest are adequately mitigated. With the adoption of the New Forest National Park Local Plan in August 2019 our Mitigation Scheme is now being updated.
The draft Revised Habitat Mitigation Scheme SPD has been prepared in accordance with the conclusions of the Habitats Regulations Assessment of our recently adopted Local Plan and with the input of our Habitat Mitigation Steering Group.
This draft Revised Habitat Mitigation Scheme SPD is subject to a six-week public consultation from Wednesday 8 January to midday on Wednesday 19 February 2020.
The proposals and consultation response form can be viewed and completed online or at the New Forest National Park Authority office at Lymington Town Hall, Avenue Road, Lymington SO41 9ZG during office hours.
All of the representations made during the six-week consultation period will be considered and any amendments will be made before the revised SPD is considered at a full National Park Authority Meeting for formal adoption.
