The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has released its final recommendations. Despite our protests, the LGBCE has decided that Boldre should be grouped with Lymington under a single County Councillor rather than continuing to be associated with other rural parishes. Boldre Parish Council is disappointed that this conclusion has been reached, despite our objections.

A full copy of the report is available on the Local Government Boundary Commission for England website, www.lgbce.org.uk. An interactive map of final recommendations is available at www.consultation.lgbce.org.uk

The changes proposed for Hampshire must now be implemented by order subject to Parliamentary scrutiny. A draft Order – the legal document which brings into force the recommendations – will be laid in Parliament. The draft Order will provide for new electoral arrangements for Hampshire County Council to be implemented at the local elections in 2017.

A summary of all of the electoral boundaries recommended by the LGBCE is available here.
