The Society's next exhibition will be held on Saturday 24" October and Sunday 25"October, from 11am to 5.pm on both days. Entry will be free.

As usual there will be a wide variety of subjects connected with the Civil Parish of Boldre. These include features on Norley Wood in the early 20" century, and histories of four local families, the Hewitt family being one, as well as a look at some of those people who were born at Nanny Gould's maternity home which started off in Portmore in the late 1930s.

There will be a good mixture of photographs and narrative as well as three metal memorial plaques from Arras in north eastern France concerning the Duplessis family of Newtown Park.
As usual the exhibition has been put together by members of the Historical Society with the co-operation of local and not so local people.

If you are interested in local history, then please make time to visit the exhibition.
